Affiliation of the YSU with International Associations and Alliances

Up to now, the YSU has joined the following international associations and alliances:


1. Alliance of CDIO (2013)

CDIO represents concept, design, implement and operate. It is an engineering education mode created by universities such as MIT, and is the latest product of international engineering education reform in recent years.

The YSU joined the Alliance in 2013, and the Yanshan University Secretariat of Alliance of CDIO has been established in the YSU.


2. Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (2020)

The Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU) was jointly initiated by Harbin Institute of Technology and Bauman Moscow State Technical University. It is a non-governmental organization composed by elite engineering universities of China and Russia on a voluntary basis, and an effective exchange platform in the field of higher education under the framework of China-Russia Committee on Humanities Cooperation. The fundamental purpose of ASRTU is to gather Chinese and Russian elite universities of engineering, train high-quality talents, promote China-Russia talent exchange and scientific and technological cooperation, and promote the common development of the innovative economy of the two nations.

In August 2020, Yanshan University joined the ASRTU as an observer. The Yanshan University Secretariat of ASRTU has been established in the YSU.


3. "Belt and Road" Aerospace Innovation Alliance (2020)

The "Belt and Road" Aerospace Innovation Alliance was jointly initiated and established by Northwestern Polytechnical University and Chinese Society of Astronautics. The Alliance is a non-profit organization formed on a voluntary basis by universities, scientific research institutions, academic organizations and enterprises in the field of international aerospace. The Secretariat of the Alliance is located in Northwestern Polytechnical University. The Alliance aims to build an international exchange and cooperation platform in the field of aerospace and promote in-depth cooperation among its members in scientific research, talent training, and integration of industry, universities and research institutes, make the Alliance an important cultural, educational and scientific research exchange platform for all members, boost the common progress and development of the members, jointly propel the development of the world's space industry, and allow the space science and technology to better serve mankind.

In October 2020, the YSU joined the "Belt and Road" Aerospace Innovation Alliance as a full member. The Yanshan University Secretariat of "Belt and Road" Aerospace Innovation Alliance has been established in the School of Mechanical Engineering.


4. Belt and Road Cultural Heritage Global Alliance (2021)

The "Belt and Road" Cultural Heritage Global Alliance marks a new chapter and move for countries along the "Belt and Road" to seek common development and win-win result in scientific and technological innovation fields such as cultural heritage research, protection and effective utilization. It aims to carry out innovative research on the protection and utilization of cultural heritage, promote the innovation of cultural development and prosperity, advocate new modes of people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and intensify international cooperation and people-to-people communication among countries and regions along the "Belt and Road".

The YSU officially joined the Alliance in March 2021. The Yanshan University Secretariat of Belt and Road Cultural Heritage Global Alliance has been established in the Northeast Asian Silk Road Civilization Research Center.



5. Alliance of Sino-Russian Universities of Culture and Art (2021)

The Alliance of Sino-Russian Universities of Culture and Art was established in December 2016, led by Beijing Language and Culture University and Moscow State Institute of Culture. The establishment of the Alliance marks the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation on Education and Scientific Cooperation in the Cultural Field, which was issued at the 20th regular meeting of the Chinese and Russian prime ministers. At present, there are 10 Chinese universities having memberships in the Alliance, including Beijing Language and Culture University, Zhengzhou University, Central Academy of Fine Arts and Central Conservatory of Music; and 21 Russian universities such as Moscow State Institute of Culture, Vaganova Ballet Academy, Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and St. Petersburg State Conservatory.

In May 2021, the YSU joined the Alliance of Sino-Russian Universities of Culture and Art as a full member. The Yanshan University Secretariat of the Alliance of Sino-Russian Universities of Culture and Art has been established in the School of Arts and Design.


6. University Alliance of Belt & Road (2022)

Initiated by Lanzhou University in 2015, the University Alliance of Belt & Road was established in Dunhuang, Gansu Province by 47 universities in 8 countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" by releasing the Dunhuang Consensus. So far, there have been 3 professional and regional branches, 7 alliance forums have been held, and 178 domestic and foreign universities have joined, covering 27 countries of five continents. Adhering to the concept of "connectivity, openness, inclusiveness, collaborative innovation and win-win cooperation", the University Alliance of Belt & Road strives to build a "Belt and Road" higher education community, and is committed to strengthening the cooperation of universities in countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" in such fields as education, science and technology, culture, so as to facilitate the international talent training, cultural exchanges, scientific research and practical cooperation. The Alliance has become an important platform for encouraging cooperation, exchanges and win-win development among universities, governments, industries and enterprises in countries and regions along the "Belt and Road".

In January 2022, the YSU joined the University Alliance of Belt & Road as a full member. The Yanshan University Secretariat of University Alliance of Belt & Road has been established in the School of Materials Science and Engineering.


7. BRICS Universities League (2022)

The BRICS Universities League was officially established in Beijing, China on October 18, 2015, with an aim to implement Article 63 of the BRICS Summit Ufa Declaration, which says "supporting the establishment of the BRICS Universities League". Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education of China, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and education authorities other BRICS nations, its purpose is to work with major well-known universities in the BRICS nations, conduct joint research, and jointly educate high-end talents. The League is a platform for bilateral and multilateral exchanges between BRICS universities, and is an important mechanism for promoting BRICS higher education cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.

At present, 28 member universities, including Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Beijing Language and Culture University, Harbin University of Technology, Lanzhou University and Yanshan University, have joined the Alliance.

In April 2022, the YSU joined the BRICS Universities League as a full member. The Yanshan University Secretariat of BRICS Universities League has been established in School of Economics and Management.
