In order to promote cooperation in multiple areas among international university alliances YSU has joined and effectively serve its internationalization, YSU held the 2022 Joint Meeting among Secretariats of Global Alliances at YSU online on the afternoon of June 8. The meeting was attended by five secretaries-general of the secretariats of global alliances at YSU, including Deng Shuping, Chen Ziming, Wang Qingtian, Zhang Yanhui, and Shu Bo, members of these secretariats and staff of the Office of International Cooperation, and presided over by Zhu Hong, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation.
For and on behalf of the university, Lu Jun, Director of the Office of International Cooperation, reported YSU’s recent efforts in internationalization and its long-term development plan, explained its policy of support for the secretariats and called on them to give full play to their respective advantages in corresponding fields to promote related work in combination with the course characteristics of schools of the university.
Subsequently, Chen Ziming, Secretary-General of the Secretariat of "Belt and Road" Aerospace Innovation Alliance at Yanshan University, Wang Qingtian, Secretary-General of the Secretariat of Association of Sino-Russian Culture and Arts Universities at Yanshan University, and Deng Shuping, Secretary-General of the Secretariat of "Belt and Road" Cultural Heritage Global Alliance (BRCHGA) made their speeches respectively, in which they reviewed their special efforts made in the alliances in 2021 and introduced the future development plans of the secretariats.
At the meeting, YSU presented a letter of appointment of Secretary-General of the Secretariat of "Belt and Road" University Alliance at Yanshan University to Teacher Zhang Yanhui of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and a letter of appointment of Secretary-General of the Secretariat of BRICS University Alliance at Yanshan University to Professor Shu Bo of the School of Economics and Management. The two newly-appointed secretaries-general also made short speeches, stating that they would actively serve the national strategy and the international development of the university, share resources, and work together to develop the alliance force.
The “Light of Silk Road” Invitational Exhibition of Paintings and Calligraphy Works of Yanshan University, organized by the Secretariat of BRCHGA, was being held in the same period in the university’s Northeast Asian Silk Road Civilization Museum (F3 of the former library).
It is reported that YSU has obtained memberships of seven international organizations and alliances as of June 2022, including the secretariats of Alliance of CDIO and ASRTU located in the university, the Secretariat of "Belt and Road" Aerospace Innovation Alliance in the School of Mechanical Engineering, the Secretariat of BRCHGA in the Northeast Asian Silk Road Civilization Research Institute, the Secretariat of Association of Sino-Russian Culture and Arts Universities in the School of Arts and Design, the Secretariat of "Belt and Road" University Alliance in the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and the Secretariat of BRICS University Alliance in the School of Economics and Management.
