[News from the News Center] A few days ago, YSU received the certificate of membership from the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities, and officially became an observer unit of the association. So far, the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities has 68 prestigious universities from China and Russia, including 54 official member universities and 14 observer universities.
The Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU) was established in 2011 under the leadership of Harbin Institute of Technology and Bauman Moscow State Technical University. It pioneered the association of universities between China and Russia and such that was incorporated into the working framework of the "China-Russia Humanities Cooperation Committee". The Chinese universities in the association include 4 universities of C9 alliance, 16 universities of "985 Project", 16 world-class universities (Class A), and the University of Macau, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the City University of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Russian universities include 16 national research universities, 5 federal universities, and 12 universities from the "5-100" plan. The 25 Chinese and Russian universities of the association rank the top 500 in the 2020 QS World University Rankings, and 17 Chinese universities have entered the top 100 in the 2020 US News World University Engineering Rankings. The global scientific and cultural influence of the association has been continuously enhanced.
In the process of building our university into a world-renowned university, our university has always attached importance to academic exchanges and cooperation with Russian universities, including Altai State Technical University, Moscow City Pedagogical University,Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University,Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, and Russian Institute of Mining Geomechanics and Mine Survey Sciences. Our university maintains close cooperative relationships with Russian universities and scientific research institutions in fields of teacher-student exchange, student joint education, joint scientific research, as well as the scientific and technological achievements transformations. The ASRTU brings together renowned universities from China and Russia. Joining the ASRTU will change the way of communications between member universities, which enable our university to communicate with multiple universities instead of single-way communication with a few universities. Through the exchanges between these universities, the national scientific and technological exchanges and the communication between different cultures and civilizations can be both promoted.
On the occasion of YSU's 100th anniversary and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, our university will take the opportunity of joining the ASRTU to actively promote the Sino-Russian talent exchanges and scientific and technological cooperation in the development of the “Double First-Class” university. YSU will spare no efforts to promote the common development of the member universities of the association and contribute to the cooperation in the field of higher education between China and Russia.
