The Office of International Cooperation (Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs) is a functional department for foreign affairs under the leadership of the CPC (Communist Party of China) Committee and the Internationalization Construction Leading Group of Yanshan University (YSU). The office is responsible for working out the YSU’s overall internationalization strategy, coordinating YSU’s international affairs, and undertaking international exchanges and cooperation as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs.
Functions of Office of International Cooperation
Ø Formulating the rules and regulations of the YSU's foreign exchange, preparing the medium and long-term development plan and annual plan, and organizing the implementation;
Ø Coordinating and guiding the international (oversea) exchange activities of the YSU, and assisting and supervising the secondary teaching and research institutions to carry out external exchanges;
Ø Establishing and developing inter-university cooperation relations between the YSU and foreign (overseas) universities, scientific research institutions, government organizations and international organizations, and expanding cooperation projects;
ØApplying for China-foreign cooperation in running schools and overseas educational institutions (programs);
Ø Applying for, establishing and managing overseas Confucius Institutes;
Ø Promoting international exchange and cooperation in scientific research of the University, including joint scientific research, international joint laboratories, international conferences, etc;
Ø Planning and implementing major foreign affairs receptions and school-level visits;
Ø Planning, approving and handling formalities for faculty and students to go abroad on business; and examining and approving the personnel at the division level going abroad for private purposes;
Ø Planning, organizing, implementing, coordinating and managing various overseas exchange programs of faculty and students at all levels;
Ø Organizing, applying for and implementing various government-sponsored visits to foreign countries for faculty and students at all levels;
Ø Introducing overseas talents, and recruiting expatriate experts and teachers and their management and services;
Ø Reviewing and approving foreign-related meetings and cooperation projects with overseas non-governmental organizations;
Ø Reviewing various agreements, documents and contracts involving foreign (oversea) relations and exchanges, and issuing relevant certificates and proofs;
ØUpdating the YSU’s English website;
Ø Completing other foreign cooperation and exchange affairs assigned by the YSU.
Functions of Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs
Ø Formulating the YSU's exchange plan with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and organizing the implementation;
Ø Coordinating and managing the cooperation and exchange activities and various projects between the YSU and universities and other academic institutions in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan;
Ø Receiving and organizing groups or individuals from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan;
Ø Approving and handling formalities for teachers and students to go to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan on business;
Ø Completing other cooperation and exchanges with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan as assigned by the University.
